Following on the recent emails about the Seabrooks Carpark Project and seeking volunteers for Work Parties on that water, we can now advise members that a date has been set for a Work Party on Tuesday 17 August. Starting at 8.30 am all day.  The water will, therefore, be closed for fishing.  As this work is being undertaken in collaboration with Seabrooks Farm we are having to do it on a weekday.

Can you make every effort to attend.  Please bring any equipment you have including chain saws and tree saws/loppers, spades and rakes.

Please contact Steve Mason to confirm if you plan to attend (including those you have already contacted him)

Please also be Covid aware and avoid working in close proximity to other volunteers.

Seabrooks Reservoir Work Parties – Volunteers needed

Volunteers prepared to put something back to improve our waters are needed.

A series of work parties will be held at Seabrooks over the coming weeks. The objectives are to: –

  • Fell the dead alders (viral disease) and cut back the alder suckers.
  • Further open the pathways around the lake.
  • Open up swims.
  • General tidying.

If you are able to help, even if only for a day or two, please register by emailing or texting your name and what days of the week you may be available. (Contact details below)

When work party dates are arranged your availability will be invited to help out.

Anyone trained in handing cutting equipment would be appreciated but don’t worry if you are not, all help will be gladly received.
