Has anyone caught either the big common or the big mirror from the back pit within the last 2 yrs. They used to scrape 30lbs each at one stage. If you have please e-mail me about their capture and location. Feel free to report any other big lumps your've had from the back pit.....

I've just started fishing again after a break of 10 years , and joined the KDAA ( again, after a break of 10 years or so ! ) . I was wondering if anyone had any tips for fishing Layer Marney Reservoirs . Which one fishes better, any areas that are better, baits that work, that sort of thing . I'll be using one rod for carp, and a float rod for anything else !  Preferably Tench, Crucian Carp and Roach.  I see that Martins Pits has some decent Crucians, but what about Layer Marney ?  Thanks.

Very disappointed to hear of the situation at Martins Top Pit. I enjoyed many sessions over there in the past 5 years.  I trust the Committee will now be on the look out for another water with sizable carp in (and night fishing) as I now envisage the Silver End complex being especially busy as it's the only KDAA water where you can catch large carp.
